Farmland Forever
Farmland is the foundation of our food security, and rural communities. Protecting it today helps ensure future generations can continue to grow food, care for the land, learn valuable skills, and experience the deep connection and sense of belonging that comes from strengthening the communities they call home.
The future of farming depends on the future of farmland.
Why Farmland Matters
Across Vermont and throughout our country, productive farmland faces increasing pressure from development, speculation, and large-scale commercial projects including data centers that are destroying large portions of our environment, while stripping communities of their vital natural resources.
These pressures are rapidly increasing land values, and the result is a troubling reality. We are losing farmland and wildlife habitat at a breathtaking pace.
For many, especially those without substantial financial resources, or generational wealth—the dream of starting a farm or securing permanent access to farmland is increasingly out of reach.
Once our farmland is lost, it is rarely recovered.
After more than 20 years in organic agriculture, I have witnessed and lived these experiences firsthand. The loss of affordable land and the many barriers facing working farmers, represent one of the most urgent challenges confronting agriculture, our ecosystems, and our food security today.
Peaceful Warrior Farm is committed to creating a different future.
The Vision
Growing Food
We envision a permanently conserved farm where fresh fruits and vegetables are grown using organic and regenerative practices. A place where wildlife habitat, pollinators and ecosystems are prioritized, so future generations of farmers can experience a meaningful connection to the land and natural world through a model of sustainable agriculture.
Caring for the Land
Farming helped me heal when I was searching for purpose, belonging, and a place where I truly felt at home. That experience instilled in me a deep sense of commitment and responsibility to care for the land and our environment so that it can continue providing nourishment, connection, and opportunity for everyone.
Building Community
The farm will be a place where people from across Vermont and beyond can gather, learn, volunteer, and reconnect with the land and nature through educational programs, workshops, and shared experiences.
Keeping Farmland Accessible
Through partnerships with organizations such as Vermont Land Trust and other conservation partners, we intend to permanently conserve the farmland, ensuring it remains accessible and affordable to future generations.
A Legacy for Future Generations
Peaceful Warrior Farm holds an intention that goes beyond the farm itself. This project is about protecting farmland forever, strengthening community, creating a lasting model of sustainable agriculture, and providing land for other farmers to learn, grow, and begin their own farming journeys.
We believe farmland is more than a resource for today—it is a legacy for tomorrow.
The decisions we make today will shape the landscape inherited by future generations.
The Peaceful Warrior Farm Incubator Program
One of the greatest challenges facing agriculture today is not a lack of people who want to farm. It is a lack of affordable access to land, infrastructure, equipment, and mentorship. Many aspiring farmers possess the passion, knowledge, and commitment necessary to succeed but face barriers that make starting a farm financially difficult or impossible. Peaceful Warrior Farm seeks to help address this challenge through the development of an incubator farm program designed to support the next generation of farmers. The incubator program is intended to serve as a bridge rather than a destination.
The longterm objective is to help participants develop the skills, confidence, and financial capacity necessary to establish their own independent farm operations.
Imagine a young farmer with talent, determination, and a solid business idea but no family land and limited financial resources. Through the Peaceful Warrior Farm Incubator Program, that farmer gains access to land, greenhouse space, equipment, mentorship, and business guidance. Instead of spending years trying to overcome barriers, they can focus on building a successful farm business. Over time, and with help they move on to establish their own operation, creating food, jobs, and community impact of their own. Protected farmland serves little purpose if future farmers cannot afford to care for it.
Peaceful Warrior Farm seeks to address both challenges by protecting farmland and helping cultivate the next generation of agricultural stewards.
Farming has given me purpose, belonging, community, and a way to contribute something meaningful to the world. I believe others deserve the same opportunity. Too many talented people are prevented from entering farming because they lack access to land, infrastructure, or capital. The incubator program is an investment in the farmers of our future one that extends far beyond a single farm.
